Classes I teach: I get to teach: K – 8th music, 5 – 8th bands, 6 – 8th art. I really enjoy teaching students to love, understand and use these creative gifts from our Creator God. What an amazing way to get to spend my days!
Activities I’m involved with: chapel, programs, musical, music curriculum committee, art curriculum committee
Professional Growth/Education: B.A. in Music Education from Dordt College, Orff-Schulwerk Levels 1, 2, and 3 Certification from University of St. Thomas
My favorite Bible verse(s): 1 John 3: 1a “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” and 2 Timothy 1: 6, 7 “…fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
Why I’m Excited to Be at DMCS:
I love teaching all ages of students and I love the arts. Teaching here at DeMotte Christian School allows me to interact with students daily, challenging them to see themselves as valuable, unique creations of an amazing Creator God.
I’m thankful to be a part of a staff that truly supports each other and works to bring out the best in each other. We recognize that all of us - teachers, board members, students and parents – are a part of One Body.
