In 1940 the DeMotte Christian School was organized by a group of parents from the First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte. It was their desire and purpose to educate their children in a school where God’s Word was central to all of learning. During the fall of 1947, the doors of DeMotte Christian were opened and classes were held in the basement of the church. In 1948 a two-room school opened its doors on the present location. Several additions have since been made to meet the school’s growing needs.
DeMotte Christian School now has a modern plant that includes a newly renovated gym, junior high science room, and computer lab. An expanded curriculum enables students to receive a well-rounded, Christ-centered education in all disciplines. The Discovery Center works with students needing additional resources to succeed at school. The Omnibus program and split classes offers students additional educational challenges in grades 2 through 8 as well.
We thank God for using DeMotte Christian School as an extension of the Christian home helping Christian parents train each child to be responsible and unique under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The school continues to enable each child to joyfully use their unique gifts and abilities to demonstrate concern for the well-being of their fellow human beings, themselves, and all of God's creation. Parents, students, educators and local churches coming together to bring God the Glory!
"Jesus looked at them and said,
'With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible'."
